William J. Minor was a sugar planter of Southdown and Hollywood plantations in Terrebonne Parish, and Waterloo Plantation in Ascension Parish, La. His father, Stephen Minor (1760?-1815), owned Concord Plantation, was governor of the Spanish district of Natchez, and was the first president of the Bank of Mississippi. William J.
